"A few years ago I bought a bamboo ring from a vintage fair in Moseley, Birmingham. It has sat on my dressing table ever since and was the seed of inspiration for this collection.
When delving into the history of bamboo I became fascinated by its different meanings. The words ‘Good Fortune’ came up and I began to image fortune tellers, mystics and gypsies. This brought the collection and its aesthetic alive. The bamboo plant is also said to bring harmony and balance to one’s life and symbolises integrity. I wanted to combine it with a classic jewellery symbol - the horseshoe - which has an ancient connection to good luck. All pieces come with an authenticity hallmark card, detailing the marks and their meaning.
The ‘Good Fortune’ collection comes with a special postcard commissioned by artist Isla Simpson.
